Welcome to Greenland! Today, you arrive in Kangerlussuaq, a small settlement located just north of the Arctic Circle. Surrounded by vast tundra and rugged mountains, Kangerlussuaq offers a unique introduction to the raw beauty of the Arctic landscape. It's an area rich in wildlife, including musk oxen and reindeer, making it a perfect starting point for your Greenland adventure. After settling into your accommodation, you might choose to take a short walk to immerse yourself in the stark yet captivating environment or simply relax and prepare for the exciting days ahead. Overnight stay in Kangerlussuaq.

Day 2: Excursion to Point 660 – Optional Extended Ice Hike

Embark on a thrilling adventure as we board a powerful 4WD truck, venturing through Greenland's breathtaking interior. Our journey takes us across rugged mountains, expansive plains, and semi-desert valleys, showcasing the untouched beauty of the Arctic wilderness. As we near the Ice Cap, we'll navigate through a striking moraine landscape shaped by ancient glaciers.

At the end of the road, we'll set off on a hike to the edge of the Greenland Ice Cap. Upon reaching the ice cap, you'll have the opportunity to briefly step onto the ice, experiencing the sheer magnitude of this frozen expanse. This short but memorable experience allows you to feel the ancient ice beneath your feet—a moment both humbling and exhilarating. We'll then spend some time exploring the surrounding area before returning to our vehicle.

For those seeking a more adventurous experience, we offer a more extensive hike on the ice cap. This optional tour lets you delve deeper onto the ice, exploring crevasses and ice formations under the guidance of experienced guides. You can choose this tour from our options available on the website.

Keep your eyes open for wildlife; there's a good chance we'll spot reindeer, musk oxen, and, depending on the season, various species of birds and wildflowers. Overnight stay in Kangerlussuaq.

Day 3: Flight to Ilulissat – Evening Iceberg Sailing

Today, we fly further north to the renowned Disko Bay area, arriving in the picturesque town of Ilulissat. In the evening, we embark on a two-hour boat trip, sailing among the colossal icebergs that drift majestically in Disko Bay. These frozen giants have calved from Sermeq Kujalleq, the most productive glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, releasing an astonishing 35 cubic kilometers of ice annually into the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord.

Gliding amidst these towering icebergs is an unforgettable experience, no matter the weather conditions. The sheer size and beauty of the ice formations create a mesmerizing atmosphere. If we're fortunate, we may even spot whales gracefully swimming through the icy waters. Overnight stay in Ilulissat.

Day 4: Visit to Sermermiut and the Ilulissat Icefjord

Today is a highlight of our journey. You'll witness the awe-inspiring sight of the massive Ilulissat Icefjord, where an endless stream of ice pushes down from the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier toward the sea. Here, ice is constantly calving, creating the majestic icebergs that float through Disko Bay.

We'll explore the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit Sermermiut, an abandoned Inuit settlement once inhabited by the Saqqaq, early Dorset, and Thule cultures. Your guide will share fascinating insights into Inuit history and culture as we walk through this historic area. Standing before the enormous icefjord, you'll feel both humbled and inspired by the sheer scale and beauty of nature. Overnight stay in Ilulissat.

Day 6: Boat Trip to Eqi Glacier – Overnight at Glacier Lodge Eqi

We depart Ilulissat early in the morning, sailing north toward the magnificent Eqi Glacier. Few places in Greenland are as spectacular as Eqi. Our boat will navigate close to the glacier, allowing us to witness huge chunks of ice breaking off and crashing into the sea—a process known as calving. The thunderous sounds and the sight of icebergs plunging into the water are truly breathtaking.

We'll spend about two hours in front of the glacier, marveling at this natural spectacle. In the afternoon, we'll go ashore at Port Victor. The rest of the day is at your leisure. You might choose to embark on one of the nearby hikes to explore the Arctic wilderness further or simply relax and enjoy the splendid views of the glacier from your lodge. Overnight stay at Glacier Lodge Eqi.

Day 7: Guided Hike to Eqi Glacier and Return to Ilulissat

This morning, we set out on an exciting five-hour guided hike (easy to moderate, 12 km or 7.5 miles) to the Eqi Glacier moraine. The trail offers fantastic views of the glacier, and we'll get a closer look at the enormous cracks crisscrossing the glacier's surface. This hike allows you to fully appreciate the scale and power of the glacier up close. After the invigorating hike, we'll return to our huts to rest.

In the afternoon, we board the boat for our return journey to Ilulissat, giving us another opportunity to admire the Arctic scenery from the water. Overnight stay in Ilulissat.
