Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Ilulissat – Evening Icebergs Sailing

Upon arrival at Ilulissat Airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation.
In the evening, embark on a two-hour boat trip among the majestic icebergs of Disko Bay. These ice giants originate from Sermeq Kujalleq, one of the most productive glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere, calving over 35 km³ of ice each year into the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord. Gliding silently between these frozen sculptures is an unforgettable experience — and with a bit of luck, you might even spot a whale. Overnight in Ilulissat.

Day 2: Panorama Hike & Guided City Walk – Ilulissat

This morning is free for a self-guided Panorama Hike along the Icefjord. Several well-marked trails lead to breathtaking viewpoints of drifting icebergs and rugged coastal scenery.
In the afternoon, join a guided cultural walk through Ilulissat. Visit the old colonial harbour, the Knud Rasmussen Museum, and the iconic Zion Church, while learning about Greenlandic history and local traditions. Overnight in Ilulissat.

Day 3: Free Day in Ilulissat

Enjoy a full free day in Ilulissat. You can spend it relaxing by the waterfront, visiting the Icefjord Centre for insights into Greenland’s glacial landscape and climate, or adding an optional excursion such as a boat trip to the remote settlement of Oqaatsut (Rodebay). Overnight in Ilulissat.

Day 4: Day Tour to Eqi Glacier – Ilulissat

Morning departure by boat to the impressive Eqi Glacier, one of Greenland’s most spectacular natural wonders. The journey takes you north along the coast. Arriving at Eqi, the engines are turned off so you can enjoy the profound silence and awe-inspiring sight of the glacier’s calving front. Listen for the thunder of cracking ice as huge blocks tumble into the water. You return to Ilulissat in the late afternoon/early evening. Overnight in Ilulissat.

Day 5: Sailing to Ilimanaq – Settlement Tour – Ilimanaq Lodge

Today, you’ll cross the Icefjord by boat to reach Ilimanaq, a charming settlement just south of Ilulissat. The voyage offers a close encounter with the floating icebergs of Kangia Icefjord — a breathtaking passage through one of Greenland’s most scenic waterways.
Upon arrival, your local guide will take you on a tour of the settlement, sharing stories of Ilimanaq’s history, its colonial past, and present-day life in this small community of around 50 inhabitants. Overnight in Ilimanaq.

Day 6: Free Day in Ilimanaq – Optional Adventures – Ilimanaq Lodge

Take the day at your own pace at Ilimanaq Lodge, where serenity and nature surround you. Relax on your terrace, watch for whales in the bay, or join one of the optional excursions — such as a tundra hike or a glacier adventure that explores the wild landscapes south of the settlement (see options). Overnight in Ilimanaq.

Day 7: Return to Ilulissat

Sail back across the Icefjord to Ilulissat. Once more, you’ll pass through the majestic icebergs that fill the bay, and with some luck, spot whales along the way. Overnight in Ilulissat.

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Ilulissat Airport for your flight home.
