Dear adventurous souls,
The events of the past few weeks have gone head over heels and the Corona Virus has shown its vast impact on the world and our every day lives.
Travel is currently less associated with anticipation, but rather connected with concerns and uncertainties. The more important it is, to provide you with the latest information on the status of travels to Greenland.
The present travel restrictions for Greenland should last until June 15, 2020, meaning tourism is not an accepted reason for entering the country until that day with the aim to prevent infection as much as possible.
From June 15 onwards Greenland is starting to open its borders in stages. During the first stage a traveller is required to show a maximum 5 day old negative Corona test upon check-in. Upon arrival in Greenland, a traveller must go directly into quarantine for 5 days. On the 5th day travellers need to re-test and if retested negative, quarantine ends.
Within the next week the Greenlandic government is expected to provide an answer until what date the quarantine measures are required to enter Greenland. Our team is watching this development of the situation very carefully. Being well aware of the uncertain feelings regarding upcoming tours, we pay close attention to further announcements of the government. In case Greenlandic authorities would impose a travel ban to Greenland or are requiring quarantine during your travel period, we would offer you to move your trip to a later date at no extra charge.
For now, however, we would like to remain hopeful that the profound measures and efforts of all governments and people will help to contain the Corona Virus and that travel in the world will also commence again in the foreseeable future.
We at Greenland Tours are there for you Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 17:00 Central European Standard Time. You can reach us as usual by e-mail or phone and we will be more than happy to assist you with any of your questions.
