Exploring Greenland in general can be done all year, but main season is from June to September. Dog sledding in Greenland is available from January to April, but from February to March you enjoy the perfect mix of snow, daylight and northern lights. To see Northern Lights is possible from September to end of March, from February to March it is great to combine with dog sledding. Into the mountains, along deep cut ice fjords - trekking and hiking in Greenland is available in July & August. Adventure is always available in Greenland, but most activities are offered from February to April or June to September. The coastal ship braves the seas all year, though most sailing tours run from June to September. Follow Inuit tradition and head out by kayak, done best from June to September. Meeting the giants is possible all year, but most tours run from June to September.
Regions
Giant icebergs, small settlements and a great variety of tours make this the ideal place if you visit Greenland the first time. Steep mountains, deep fjords and giant icebergs offer the perfect playground for kayaking, sailing and hiking adventures. Lush farmlands, jagged mountains and several icefjords invite for adventure, sightseeing and hiking tours. Best access to the ice sheet and musk oxen roaming the backlands of Kangerlussuaq make this a great stop-over on your way to Disko Bay or Nuuk. If you think Greenland itself is not far away enough, head further to Scoresbysund and be blown away by its sheer grandeur. Nuuk, the capital of Greenland is surprisingly metropolitan with a secret hinterland calling for adventures.

We advise to spend time and go whale watching in Greenland. On a whale watching tour you are likely to spot humpback whales, fin whales, and minke whales. But even rarer species can be seen in Greenland like beluga whales and narwhals, and for part of the year also blue whales and orcas.

While we offer whale watching tours in Disko Bay, Nuuk and Tasiilaq, it is the longer sea voyages and kayak expeditions which offer the most personal encounter with these gentle giants. Seeing whales in Greenland and hearing the breathtaking sound of them exhaling at the water’s surface is something you will never forget.
